* Power over Ethernet option
* Can also be used with SIP+ if BMS Integration or Data Export is required

Simple to commission via the built in web pages where users configure the communication parameters to convert the bus communications to the TCP/IP network.

When configured the SIPslice IP converter allows information from a network of ModBus or M-Bus Serial slave addresses to be transferred to ModBus or M-Bus TCP/IP Master(s). The digital/pulse acquisition input will also appear as a unique address on the fieldbus TCP/IP network.

Synapsys Solutions – Focus on the future

Posted on: April 4th, 2023 by Tom No Comments

It was September 2022 when we announced that Synapsys Solutions had become an employee-owned business run through an employee ownership trust (EOT).

The last six months have passed quickly and with the transition to an EOT now complete, the end of March 2023 marks the retirement of Harvey Roft, one of Synapsys Solutions founders and our outgoing Managing Director.

Andy Thorn (Sales and Service Director), joined the company board when our EOT was announced and will now take on the role as our new Managing Director as of 1st April 2023.

Harvey Roft said back in September “By transitioning ownership of the business to its employees Synapsys has secured the future of the business, continuing its values, culture and ethos. I believe the people best able to run and own Synapsys Solutions, are those who work within it, who helped to build it and continue to make it grow”.

In full support of that statement, Andy Thorn is now fully focused on the future of Synapsys Solutions and along with the rest of the team will continue to build on the great foundations which have been set, ready to push onto to greater product innovation, better service to our customers and stable growth of the company.

In support of that business growth, Ryan Needham becomes Sales and Projects Director. Ryan has a history with Synapsys Solutions as well as contracting and is ideally suited to taking on the challenge of maintaining profitable sales growth in the current market.

Everyone at Synapsys Solutions congratulates Harvey on his retirement and we all wish him all the best as he starts his new adventure.

Energy saving potential with smarter lighting solutions

Posted on: October 20th, 2022 by Tom No Comments

In the UK approximately 20% of the energy consumed in buildings is used on the lighting, switching to an LED lighting system which is properly controlled will vastly lower that figure and help drive the UK’s goal to be Net Zero by 2050.

Energy-efficient lighting technology has seen major advances in recent years, with LEDs in particular now able to offer significant energy and maintenance savings across a range of applications. However LED fixtures alone are only part of the solution. In the rush to install new technology we must no forget that if we want to drive the highest possible energy savings whilst creating comfortable, effective and responsive environments, we have to control it and control it correctly.

Learn more about how our LiGO Smart Lighting Controls are enabling real energy savings in buildings across the UK by requesting our Energy Saving Potential information sheet here or call us on 01444 246 128.

Celebrating our coming of age this October

Posted on: October 5th, 2022 by Tom No Comments

Synapsys are pleased to be celebrating coming of age this October with our 21st anniversary, which also nicely coincides with us becoming an Employee owned Business.

Harvey Roft and Andy Devine founded Synapsys Solutions in 2001 and we’ve come a long way from our early beginnings in Hurstpierpoint.

From our initial SIP interfacing products to OEM controls and developing energy dashboards. A move to our own premises in Burgess hill and our recent hardware advancements SIP+, SIP2, SIPslice, through to our LiGO lighting controls and energy and billing software platforms, we’ve always had the same mission – to develop and supply innovative hardware and software solutions to the intelligent building control industry.

Moving into our 21st year marks huge changes at Synapsys. We announced that on the 14th September 2022 Synapsys Solutions became an employee-owned business run through an employee ownership trust (EOT).

This decision was driven by the desire to continue the company’s independence, product innovation, choice for our customers and recognition of the fact that Synapsys Solutions has been built upon the hard work and commitment of its employees over the past 21 years.

Harvey Roft said “The past 21 years have seen us build Synapsys from its humble beginnings to a trusted partner and supplier for all our customers. From a small product offering to the full range of hardware and software solutions that we provide today our company has continued to innovate while maintaining its values, culture and ethos”.

“We believe the people best able to continue this and take the company on to the next level, are those who work within it, who helped to build it and continue to make it grow”.

We hope you will celebrate our 21st year with us and we look forward to continuing to work with you as we take Synapsys Solutions into its new era of ownership and development.

Synapsys Solutions begins a new exciting era

Posted on: September 22nd, 2022 by Tom No Comments

Last week marked the beginning of a new and exciting future for Synapsys Solutions. As of the 14th September 2022 Synapsys Solutions transitioned to an employee-owned business run through an employee ownership trust (EOT).This new ownership model sets the groundwork for a new chapter in the future of our company.

So why did we make this decision?

Long-term continuity for Synapsys Solutions

In 2001, Harvey Roft and Andy Devine founded Synapsys Solutions to develop and supply innovative hardware and software solutions to the intelligent building control industry.

By incorporating the latest technologies, putting focus on customer needs and supporting customers from initial purchase through to project sign-off; they have created a business that approaches product and software sales very differently from our competitors.

The decision to become an employee owned business was driven by the desire to continue the company’s independence, product innovation, choice for our customers and recognition of the fact that Synapsys Solutions has been built upon the hard work and commitment of its employees.

Harvey Roft said “By transitioning ownership of the business to its employees Synapsys has secured the future of the business, continuing its values, culture and ethos. I believe the people best able to run and own Synapsys Solutions, are those who work within it, who helped to build it and continue to make it grow”.

What does this means for our customers, partners and suppliers?

For our customers — the new EOT structure ensures that you will continue to receive the same innovative products, services and support that you have come to expect from working with Synapsys Solutions, today and into the future.

For our partners and suppliers— It provides assurance that the relationships and trust which we have built up over many years with our partners and suppliers will continue long into the future.

Our Management team going forward

Sales and Service Director Andy Thorn has joined the company board and will work with the newly appointed Trustees to ensure Synapsys Solutions continues to grow and operate for the benefit of all Synapsys employees. Andy Devine will continue as a board member and Harvey Roft will be retiring in March 2023, but will continue to be a Trustee member and part of the management team during a period of transition.

We look forward to continuing to work with you as we take Synapsys Solutions into its new era of ownership and development.

If you have any questions please email us, give us a call or speak with your local sales representative.

Data Analytics

Posted on: November 22nd, 2021 by Tom No Comments

Data Analytics has long been used in the financial, retail and manufacturing sectors to help identify areas in which productivity can be maximised. More recently Data Analytics has started to be applied to the built environment with the thought that the process will identifying areas in which buildings can operate more efficiently.

Synapsys Solutions has a long history of providing data for companies operating various analytics platforms and is uniquely positioned to understand what makes a successful analytics process. It’s not just about crunching numbers.

So what is Data Analytics?
It is the mathematical (statistical) analysis of data to provide causal correlations (insights) that could typically not be made otherwise.

What does data analytics require?
• A High Volume of accurate and well described data.
• Appropriate engines and algorithms to analyse the data.

Where is analytics used?
It is certainly not a new invention, and is widely used in the financial, retail, production sectors. e.g. the data analysis of Tesco’s Club card data in the early 90’s giving them customer insight and eventually market dominance.

Why is analytics used?
To give insights into how productivity can be maximised e.g.. increasing financial or retail business, optimising complex manufacturing processes, increasing specific yields from chemical processes or fractionation.

Importantly – It is the actions borne out of analytics that give results

However it would be fair to say that DA has not been taken up within the built environment as well as expected, to understand why take a look at our Data Analytics basics information sheet.

If you would like to know more about Data Analytics, our products or to discuss a project please contact us on 01444 246128 or drop us an email to enquiries@synapsys-solutions.com
