New SIP range from Synapsys – SonNET-BeMS Interfaces

Posted on: July 29th, 2014 by copy No Comments

Synapsys Solutions is teaming up with field controls specialist Sontay, to deliver the SonNet powered by SIP interface – a simple new way to add monitoring points to a building energy management system (BeMS).

The new SIP interface for SonNet helps meet the demand for more detailed performance information in today’s intelligent buildings. Used with a BeMS, it gives improved control over energy use and can help ensure a building complies with Building Regulations Part L2.

The SIP device interfaces to a Sontay SonNet wireless receiver, which in turn draws key performance data from a network of wireless sensors around a building. Data readings such as temperature, humidity and CO2 levels, and volt free contact (VFC) are collected, and with the Synapsys interface functioning as a server on the BeMS, the data can easily be retrieved, logged, and presented in a detailed and flexible real-time format.

Driving performance forward

Posted on: July 28th, 2014 by copy No Comments

Our ‘Drive of your Life’ prize draw went down a storm with visitors to our stand at Data Centre World earlier this year and this month our lucky winner Paul Clarke got the chance to follow in the tyre-tracks of the rich and famous – and their reasonably-priced cars! – at the Top Gear test track.

We had a great day at the track with Paul and the weather also played its part providing us with fantastic sunshine for the whole day, ideal for sampling the performance of the cars at the event.

The cars put through their paces on the day included the Aston Martin DB9, Audi R8 and Nissan GTR, with the Nissan being judged the best drive of the day thanks to its powerful acceleration and phenomenal cornering ability.

Paul tweeted after the event “Thanks to the guys from @SynapsysSIP for a great day yesterday. Everyone had a fantastic time”.

Below is a selection of pictures from the day.

SIPe ENERGY MONITORING FROM SYNAPSYS REVEALS ENERGY USE

Posted on: May 26th, 2014 by copy No Comments

Understanding when, where and how a building uses energy is the first step in any energy reduction plan, and Synapsys has developed SIPe to meet this need for clear, detailed energy performance data.

The hardware-based SIPe system is proving very popular, since with no ongoing software licences, unlimited users and no maintenance fees, it’s a cost-effective, flexible choice for estates and facilities managers working across a wide range of sectors.

The SIPe user interface is a graphical energy ‘dashboard’ display to allow the user to view live energy performance data gathered from a meter network covering a variety of plant and equipment located around an estate.

Building Intelligence – Synapsys shows its true colours

Posted on: April 15th, 2014 by copy No Comments

Synapsys Solutions, UK leader in developing and supplying innovative BMS communication interfaces, has a fresh new look – and customers working in sectors across the built environment will be seeing a lot more of it.

With a new user-friendly website, new branding, attendance at forthcoming exhibitions and a growing presence in trade media, Synapsys is responding to the way people work in today’s building controls industry.

The new approach makes it easier than ever for facilities people to see how Synapsys can help improve building performance in schools, hospitals, hotels, sport and leisure facilities, data centres, social housing, and all kinds of other buildings.

Harvey Roft, managing director at Synapsys, explains: “Our products are known for being intuitive and easy to use for people from any background, not just engineers. But we felt our previous look focussed too much on the ‘nuts and bolts’ of the technology, so our new image reflects more how we work with people in a wide range of sectors, helping them see how their building performs – and how it can work better.”

Seeing is believing feature article in LABM magazine

Posted on: March 14th, 2014 by copy No Comments

The March addition of Local Authority building & maintenance magazine features an article by Matt Gardner, Sales and marketing manager at Synapsys –  focusing on the benefits of providing clear energy data to all building users.

Schools, colleges, academies and universities face their own unique Challenges when it comes to energy management. Although the same building users occupy the building day in, day out, they are so numerous and so removed from the sharp end of paying the energy bill, that it can seem impossible to bring about behavioural changes with a view to reducing energy usage.

The full article can be seen in the March issue of the magazine or download it here.

Synapsys to launch SIPp power monitoring solution at Data Centre World

Posted on: January 15th, 2014 by copy No Comments

Synapsys Solutions, will be launching its new SIPp power monitoring solution at Data Centre World in February.

Power and energy monitoring is crucial for data centres of all sizes, minimising the risk of downtime, revealing ways to reduce energy usage, and helping achieve building performance targets. Synapsys’ new SIPp power monitoring solution offers a flexible and cost-effective way to give managers all the performance data they need.

With its user-friendly graphic ‘dashboard’ display, SIPp presents real-time data in an easy-to-read format. It’s simple to select which information feeds are to feature on the dashboard, creating a customised display that gives instant access to relevant key data on a site’s power usage and performance.

The data provided by the SIPp system gives insight into actual rack power usage, key to improving a data centre’s power usage effectiveness (PUE). It promptly and accurately monitors customers’ power usage down to individual rack level, protecting the integrity and safety of the network by identifying potential uptime issues within the data centre.

Harvey Roft, managing director at Synapsys Solutions, says: “We know from our extensive experience in energy monitoring and BMS interfacing that data centres have a real need for accurate, real-time power monitoring information in a more accessible format, so we developed our new SIPp range to provide an easy-to-use, cost-effective option.”

SIPp offers a scalable hardware-only solution, with no ongoing licence or service costs. It is suitable for use as a standalone power monitoring system, and can also be connected to a BMS for integrated energy management.

The range includes options for AC power monitoring, branch circuit monitoring, and DC power monitoring, so it can be tailored to each site’s requirements. SIPp is suitable for new build projects, while its non-intrusive installation also makes it ideal for retro-fit applications.

To find out how SIPp can help you, and to enter our exclusive exhibition prize draw, come and talk to the Synapsys power monitoring experts on Stand D85 at Data Centre World, 26-27th February 2014.
